Las Vegas is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world for a whole host of good reasons. A huge selection of theme parks, museums and wildlife parks. casinos and nightlife, local attractions like the Hoover Dam. It truly does have everything to offer, from the glitzy world famous entertainment shows to fine dining and great shopping.
The skyline of Las vegas is immediately recognisable, even from a distance. It appears like an exotic desert oasis with the Statue of Liberty offset by the illuminated buildings and glittering neon signs form the hotels and casinos. In most vacation destinations around the world, the hotels get built around major attractions. In Las Vegas, the hotels actually are the major attractions!
The world famous Las Vegas casinos, with their action packed and slot machines provide tourists with an unforgetable experience treading in the same steps as their heros from the movies. A large percentage of the visitors to Vegas head straight for the slot machines but all the tables and machines in Vegas seem to be busy 24/7. Vegas truly stimulates the senses with the flashing neon signs and breathtaking views. Many Las Vegas hotels have Las Vegas hotel air packages, family entertainment packages and senior citizens package vacations on offer. There are in fact a number of companies superb vacation packages and these packages obviously vary, depending upon the number of days and the budget.
Surrounding the Las Vegas strip there is a lot to offer tourists as well, such as the Hoover Dam, the Mormon Fort and the Clark Country Museum. For the more adventurous tourists why not try some of the thrill rides around Vegas such as the Adventuredome, the Canyon Blaster or Insanity – The Ride (prepare to be spun 1,149 feet above the ground in the Stratosphere towerat up to three Gs while sitting in your escape proof seat!)
For those of you who think Las vegas is tacky and devoid of culture – think again! There are many museums and galerries in and around Vegas, such as the Centaur Art Galleries (featuring works from the world’s most famous artists, including Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dalí and Norman Rockwell), Las Vegas Natural History Museum (featuring Marine life, wildlife and animated dinosaurs) and the Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art with exhibitions of art from all over the world.
